Robynn Jaymes

Robynn Jaymes is living proof that music, hope, and heart can carry you through just about anything.

A Liberty University graduate, Robynn has been a familiar voice on the radio across Central, Southwest, and now Southern Virginia throughout her broadcasting career. Her passion for connecting with listeners and creating meaningful moments on the air has made radio feel less like a job — and more like home.

After a long battle with pancreatitis that began in 2011, Robynn was thrilled to return to the airwaves in October 2020. During the COVID-19 pandemic, she discovered B99-9 by scanning the radio for something new to brighten her day — and quickly became a fan of the station. When it was finally time to get back behind the microphone, B99-9 felt like the perfect fit from the very beginning.

Today, Robynn brings warmth, encouragement, humor, and a love for great country music to listeners across Southern Virginia every day. She especially loves 90’s country — the songs, the stories, and the artists that defined an era and still feel like old friends every time they play on the radio.

Robynn says Franklin County and the surrounding communities welcomed her with open arms and made her feel right at home as soon as she got on the air at B99-9. That sense of connection and family is something she carries with her every time the mic comes on.

Listeners know Robynn for her uplifting spirit, authentic heart, and ability to find light even in difficult moments. Whether she’s sharing a meaningful story, celebrating life’s simple joys, or helping listeners laugh their way through the morning, she believes radio is about much more than music — it’s about connection.

Beyond the studio, Robynn is passionate about supporting local charities, community events, and causes that make a difference. She believes kindness matters, encouragement matters, and sometimes the right song at the right moment can change someone’s entire day.

In a world that can often feel heavy, Robynn Jaymes hopes B99-9 feels like a place listeners can turn to for comfort, fun, encouragement, and a little bit of home.

Trey Davidson

Trey brings his night owl energy to B999 every evening from 7 to midnight.

Trey’s journey into broadcasting traces back to 1994 — completely by chance. After mailing a thank you letter to the overnight girl at a country station for playing his request, he was fascinated by how fast she managed to get it on the air as the very next song. One call to the request line turned into many, eventually leading to a studio tour, where he was overwhelmed by the sight of all the equipment from the live analog days of radio. That friendship inspired his career. By 1996, Trey had landed his first radio job as a board operator with the help of a radio engineer who warned him, “Son, you’re crazy for getting into this business — but I can help you.”

Before joining B999 in early 2023, Trey worked as a freight train conductor, spent time on the air in the Florida market, and gained experience in television — but every path kept pulling him back to the mic.

Off the air, Trey is a quiet homebody who enjoys the slower, simpler side of life without much technology or texting. He’s drawn to rugged, jacked up trucks, humid summer nights, and late night drives through the country after midnight with classic rock on repeat. He’s an amateur rodeo bull rider and a devoted Joan Crawford binge watcher.

Ask Trey what matters most to him about working in broadcasting, and he’ll tell you: “It’s always been the magic of it all.” The power to be part of someone’s day. The behind the scenes stories that may shock you if the station walls could talk. The bloopers — on air or not — that keep the job unpredictable. What drives him most is seeing people discover their own joy and passion, whether it’s a career or a hobby that lights them up.

Capt. Tom Conroy

Born a boomer and loving the energy of Top 40 radio guys let me one day saying “I can do that”. That happened in 1971. I spent decades in Baltimore radio part-time plus syndicated in Philly and Chicago too. My real career was as the captain of a 45’ hydrographic survey vessel on the Chesapeake Bay for the US Army Corps of Engineers, plus several summers as a skipper aboard the Virginia Dare and I am back to round two at WZBB after years of doing afternoons. I love the music, and culture, but most of you, the listeners! I am so blessed to have you!
